SERVICES
The Eating Disorder and Body Image Group at A Bridge to Recovery is an ongoing process group for men and women who would like to gain the necessary emotional insight and understanding for long term recovery from their eating disorder. This group meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and is limited to 8 participants.
The group is geared towards those struggling with anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, disordered eating patterns, emotional eating and/or body image issues. In addition to process group and support, topics will include: intuitive eating, healthy exercise, coping with feelings without food, binge eating, emotional eating, poor/low self esteem, relaxation techniques, healthy coping skills, and much more.
The Eating Disorder and Body Image Group will give participants a strong foundation for recovery skills. Participants will learn to develop compassion for their selves and bodies, address and understand the underlying issues related to their eating disorder and explore the physical, emotional and spiritual issues related to their struggles. Participants will also learn and understand how their eating disorder affects all areas of their lives, learn healthy coping skills, develop a healthy lifestyle, increase their self esteem and reduce their negative thought processes.
Participants are required attend 12 Step meetings, continue individual therapy session with their outside therapist, in conjunction with the group.
